Rulebook

**All rules marked by an asterisk were either reworded or made anew as of July 7th, 2020.**

1. Games & Matches

1.1 - Games are played in 4 vs. 4 and the match duration is 3 periods x 6 minute periods.
1.2 - Penalties are to be disabled.
1.3 - All jerseys must stand out from teams in the league.
1.4 - Matches cannot start with a man down, all matches must start with 4 per side.
1.5 - Spectators are forbidden to talk in 'Public Chat' while league matches are on. Players who don't follow this rule will be given a warning, failure to still abide this rule may result in league suspension.
1.6 - All games must be finished entirely. Players leaving early may receive a warning or league penalty/suspension.
1.7 - All games MUST have (1) Referee. If no referee is available, all games must be posted on the forums for a referee to submit on Tilastot > Please post in 'Post-Game Results' if no referee is available.
1.8 - Bug/glitch goals will not count. Buzzer must go off in order for the goal to stand.
1.9 - Lagging. When a player is lagging, the play is technically allowed to continue until there is a stoppage. However...
1.9a - It's the non-lagging teams choice whether they want to continue to play while their opponent is lagging or (should always be this option) do the respectful thing and ice or go offside for them. This will prevent any such controversial "lag goals" from occurring in this league, thus no confusion/conflicts. If such a thing were to occur, they'd simply be goals where someone was lagging (some may think it's the same thing, but it's really not). This being said, when you see someone lagging (on the boards, not moving etc.), you're expected to end the play and create a whistle
1.9b - If the non-lagging team recognizes their opponent is lagging, they'll be held responsible if the lagging team attempts to score on them and ends up in fact scoring(possibly not aware one of their own is lagging). Such a goal would unfortunately count and wouldn't be given back, unless both teams agree it was an unfair goal and shouldn't count (should be the case). Then the goal would be given back and play would resume. Never ever assume the lagging team is going to automatically ice and not attempt to score. Wait for them to create a whistle, and then you can completely ease off. Clarification intended to prevent potential problems.
1.9c - All of this said, If both teams determine and agree it was a lag goal (not just a 1 second skip or a person lagging not even close to the play), the team may own-goal and return the goal. Neither of the goals will count on the stats sheet. Only in this case would it make all of the aforementioned rules irrelevant.
1.10 - Going to the bench to sub during a game that results in a goal will count and not be given back. It's a teams responsibility to sub accordingly (during whistles).
1.11 - Pulling/freezing opponent goalie before 4:30 of the 3rd period is prohibited.** - UPDATED AUGUST 2ND 2020.
*1.11a - Pulling the goalie while down 3 goals or more is also prohibited (game must be within reach).*
